A group of 10 elected and 8 appointed lay members of the Parish who, with the Pastor, clergy and staff, carry forward the mission and ministry of Christ and his Church in the parish community. It is a consultative body governed by its constitution in accordance with diocesan policies that makes recommendations to the Pastor regarding the life and mission of the parish. As such, it encourages a network of communication within the parish and surrounding community and serves as a forum for dialogue among the parishioners, the Pastor, the clergy, and staff.
Saint Rita Parish Council
Neill was born and raised in New
Orleans La. He is a graduate of a Jesuit High School and attended and graduated
from Alabama Capstone Engineering School. He received his Engineering license
in 2003 and is employed at regional Utilities as an engineer. Neill is a mentor
with Walton County Talking Stick in children program and is a cofounder of the
South Walton Coastal Conservation Assoc. He enjoys hunting, fishing and
boating. Neill is married to sister (nick name) and they have three daughters.
Teresa oversees management and all aspects
of accounting of a business owned with my husband Shawn for over thirty years.
We have been married for thirty-two years and have three children and three
grandchildren. I have been a member of St. Rita since moving to Santa Rosa
Beach from Tennessee in 2003. I coordinate the RCIA at St. Rita, and have
served on the RCIA team since 2004. I have also been a member of the Monday
Night Prayer Group since 2004, and serve as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector.
I am an active member of the Seagrove Garden Club where I have served a two
year term as secretary. My interests include spending time with my family,
cooking, walking, bicycling, photography, reading and scrapbooking.
Tim is currently a broker associate at Keller Williams
Realty Emerald Coast, Tim is an experienced hospitality industry executive,
educator, and entrepreneur with a comprehensive background in operations, asset
management, and real estate development. His diverse career includes senior
position with two privately held development companies engaged in real estate
and hospitality operations in the Caribbean and Europe. Tim is very active with
in the church and the Emerald Coast Knights of Columbus Council #11893. He
resides in Santa Rose Beach with his wife, Jeanine, and their three children.
Phil was born and raised in St.
Louis Mo. Phil Graduated from Georgetown University in 1968 with an Economics
degree. Phil is the third generation to run a family business, a commercial
laundry servicing hospitals hotels, restaurants. Phil is married to Susie and
has two daughters and four grandchildren. They build their home in 2005 and
moved here permanently in 2008 after he sold his business. He is very active in
the church ministries and has recently been trained as a Liturgical assistant.
Ray and his wife, Barbara, have been members of St Rita Church since 1996. The Meyers were involved in Engaged Encounter (EE) for over 10 years working behind the scenes and as a presenting team. They served as the local coordinators for EE in this Diocese in 1998 and 1999. Ray is the Owner/Broker of Bay Wood Realty. He and Barbara work together selling real estate, managing long-term rentals, and managing a local storage facility. Ray has been a licensed Realtor since 1988. He has sold vacant land, commercial property, been involved in real estate development, and has managed, built, and sold many single family homes. Ray was appointed Chairman of the Finance Council.
